Let’s keep things real, hiring a Facebook ads manager is a pretty big decision and not one you should make lightly.

I get that a lot of entrepreneurs get so frustrated with Facebook ads that they are ready to pull their hair out and are eager to hire a Facebook Ads manager as soon as possible.

You’re not the only one, I see it happen every day.

I’m a Facebook Ads manager and I have amazing colleagues who are also ads managers (I often refer people to them if they’re better served by them). It’s simply awesome that there are so many ads manager available, but before you run off to hire one I want you to know what to expect when considering hiring an ads manager because outsourcing your ads isn’t necessarily the best option for you (yet!).

Firstly, ads managers generally don’t come cheap (not if they have a history of success!) and secondly, they often come with criteria they want you to meet before working with you to ensure the best chance of success (I know because I’m one of them. I have criteria).

Before you dive right into hiring an ads manager (and possibly be disappointed) I want to talk to you about the 3 signs to look out for that indicate that you need a Facebook Ads strategist, a.k.a. I want you to know when you’re ready.

Basically, the following three steps indicate that you are ready to outsource your Facebook ads, if that’s the route you want to go. If you’re not quite there yet I suggest that you manage your own ads first to increase your chances of success and not blow your entire budget.

Here are 3 Signs you’re ready for a Facebook Ads strategist:

  • You’ve launched your course or product/service, it converts well, it’s been profitable and you’re ready to let someone else take the reigns.
  • You’ve budgeted for an ads manager (monthly or for a launch) plus ad spend and are willing to outsource it so you don’t have to even THINK about stepping into the ads dashboard of Facebook.
  • You see the value in outsourcing Facebook ads because it’s not your area of expertise and you’d rather have a pro to do the work (because who loves keeping up with Facebook’s changes right?!).

If you were nodding along as you read these three signs, you are most definitely ready to hire an ads manager. Your next step would be to find one that you resonate with and has experience in your niche. Do your research. Ask them questions.

Here are some things you could ask:

  • How much experience do they have with running ads for your niche or business?
  • Do they have testimonials from past clients?
  • Do they have case studies to show results?
  • How have they been taught and where do they go for support?
  • How do they charge? And what does that include?
  • Do they have any minimum ad spend requirements?

I hope these questions will help you find your ideal Facebook Ads Manager.

Now back to you…

The above signs indicate that you are ready to hire an ads manager but I want you to know that our services are highly valued and are not considered cheap (duh! We have the skill to turn money into more money!) and that’s for good reason.

There is A LOT of work that goes into managing high-converting ads and turning your ad spend into profits.

In case you didn’t really know what we do on a day to day basis, here are some of the things I keep busy with for my clients:

  • Researching audiences (this involves hours of finding your perfect clients inside of Facebook)
  • Building your audiences
  • Uploading email lists, FB fans and building warm audiences, engaged audiences, look-a-like audiences, video watchers, etc.
  • Creating ad creative
  • Creating ad copy and headlines
  • Putting a strategy together (including dates ads go live, who to target, when to retarget etc)
  • Installing pixels plus confirming they’re working
  • Testing all landing pages/opt-ins to ensure everything is working
  • Reviewing landing pages (and sometimes re-creating landing pages)
  • Setting the ads up in ads manager (power editor is obsolete, in case you didn’t know)
  • Running the ads
  • Monitoring them daily and optimizing/scaling/reviewing stats
  • Determining what ads are performing and which ones to turn off
  • Creating weekly and monthly reports
  • Communicating with you weekly (if not daily) on the status of your ads
  • Troubleshooting when ads are tanking
  • Making sure you are getting a return on investment (and are not spending more than you’re making!)

Yup, that’s a pretty long list right?! It shows you why good ads managers are charging a premium for their services.

So, are you ready for an ads manager?

Here’s a recap of the 3 signs to look out for:

  • You’ve launched your course or product/service, it converts well, it’s been profitable and you’re ready to let someone else take the reigns.
  • You’ve budgeted for an ads manager (monthly or for a launch) plus ad spend and are willing to outsource it so you don’t have to even THINK about stepping into the ads dashboard of Facebook.
  • You see the value in outsourcing Facebook ads because it’s not your area of expertise and you’d rather have a pro to do the work (because who loves keeping up with Facebook’s changes right?!).

If you can say a big YES to these signs you are ready to hire an ads manager. I hope that with this post you can now ask the right questions and find the right ads manager for your niche!
